I turned the offer down yesterday. I thought more and more about what the current manager does and the points mentioned here were pretty much spot on. This did however open up the floor during that meeting to bring up a topic from last year where my boss was working on creating a network admin position for me. Said he didn't forget about it, just that things got so busy. So now that he knows I still plan on going down the networking road, we'll see how things pan out by next Spring.
