By the time I stopped playing, Jita was like going to Walmart on Christmas eve. Easily 500-800 people in system at any given time, or more. Trying to undock from Jita 4-4 could easily be an infuriating clusterfuck as you pinball off of other, larger ships that are themselves chaotically bouncing around.

Unless they have changed things, you might look into time cards. You can buy codes online from various retailers that will get you 30, 60, or 90 days, or however long in the game.

In your 25 second undock cooldown, you cant bounce. Best thing to do is make an insta-warp off point 200km off and leave from there.

I played from Feb 2006 to Nov 2008, and got up to around 40 million skill points on my main character. I actually enjoyed the shit out of the game, but the time-sink it became for me was a problem in real life.

I also got tired of them jacking with the mechanics of the game all the time.

Is this a new feature? As I remember, they spit every ship out to the same point , and if you get enough of them - especially large ships - undocking at the same time it can become a real mess. I definitely recall getting hamstrung all to hell on a number of occasions where I couldn't even align to warp because of ship collisions.

I actually handed over the bulk of my assets to the corp I was in on my last visit because I knew I wouldn't be back. I'm sure I have more than a few T2 ships still hanging about.

Yep its kinda nice, especially when you have a crap ton of dreads undocking from an outpost.

Best thing to do is get with a corporation that will show you the ropes and get you on your feet - fast. Most people in the game know how hard it is to come up to speed, and plenty will gladly take you under their wing. You can make it on your own, but if you have friends you will get a lot further and probably have more fun, too.

There are several unofficial guides on the eve-online website forums, and there is really good information in them.

I was thinking of getting into Eve University for the first few months and see how it goes from there. I've always been captivated by the Eve community especially all the drama. I was following the titans4u drama, and just recently the dude who lost 70 something PLEX and was at war in jita.
The slang still doesn't make sense, but the game itself is very intriguing.

Its a fun game. What I have learned is that its all about the community. I enjoy the gameplay, but I like the people I play with, thats what makes it fun. I left my corp for a bit to go do a little lowsec piracy, and I only lasted about a week due to boredom.

I won't really be able to play until I get everything situated as I'm in the process of moving. So it will be a good two weeks until I can do anything, I just wanted to read up on some guides and shit to kinda see what I'm getting into.

Oh, I've never played! I bought the game LONG time ago and never got around to actually installing it lol.

How big is your install folder too btw? Thinking of installing it on my macbook pro, just wondering what size am I looking it.
