Best tablet at the moment?

Looking for a superior tablet that will last me a good while and not be outdated in six months.

I'm likely going to only get something 10", but I'm open to 7 or 8".

Mainly play emulated games, stream video. I've been looking at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, and the Galaxy Note 10.1. Love the Note but I really doubt I would use the stylus that much.

I was about to buy the new Nexus 7 when I started reading reviews and found out about the horrid wifi issues.

Anything new supposed to be coming down the pipe soon? Or are these devices above good to stick around for a while?

I still prefer the iPad in the tablets... Compared to the galaxy 10, the battery life is much better in the real world, and apple still has a significant lead in tablet specific apps.

Loads of folks on review websites have mentioned it. Maybe it was just an early release/first batch type issue. However, was enough to scare me off enough for now.

I guess they got the wifi issue figured out. Still leaning more towards a 10.1 tablet. If the Nexus was released in that configuration I would buy it since the wifi issues seem to be corrected.

There's already a nexus 10 out, I think Samsung is supposed to be making the new nexus 10 later this year.

If it has to be Android, I would go with either of the Nexus products. I have a Nexus 7 and I'm thinking about buying the new one now. The only thing I feel is a con is that neither has a memory expansion slot like some other brands do. But I've been pretty happy with the room so far (32 GB).

I love my Surface Pro. Should I come across something that I need to install, I don't have to worry about an app....I just install it like I would on a PC.

My wife has the Samsung Galaxy Note and really likes it. I like it as well, whenever I get a chance to play with it.

i have a Nexus 7 and it's bad ass. i have never had a problem, knock on wood. it is only wifi and i use it at home and at work.

Pretty much why I refuse to use Apple products.

Not sure why 10 inch tabs demand such a higher pricetag. Three more inches at double the cost, with nearly identical hardware specs.

i just bought the new nexus 7 to install in my car. this is my first re-entry to android after a year+ away. it's definitely much improved, i haven't wanted to discus throw the MF'er yet, which is a much different experience compared to my old samsung galaxy 10.1.

aside from what jose said about wishing it had a flash drive, my only complaint is some of the UI decisions aim for cute design rather than functionality. landscape mode seems like an afterthought in most of android's own apps. it really impedes on my ability to use the tablet in the car.

also, i did have to root the thing in order to install chrome UA to prevent chrome from perpetually trying to give me GDMFing mobile sites. this is a 1980x1200 resolution screen... in what world would i want to see 4 lines of text?

beyond that it's pretty excellent.
