  • TXRedneck HALP!

My Droid RAZR MAXX on JB 4.1.2 won't send text messages. People say to try wiping system cache partition. So I hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power and it goes to the boot menu. I scroll down to Recovery Mode with Volume Down, then press Volume up to select. It then goes to a screen where I get this little guy:

The instructions I see everywhere online say to then press Volume Up and Volume Down to go into Recovery Mode, but when I press those two buttons simultaneously and then release them nothing happens... WTF??

Every phone I've messed w/, the Power button executes commands from bootloader or recovery. Try pressing it from the recovery prompt.

Seriously though, on most phones you typically use the power button to select, like posted above. I think you might've done fucked something up.

I wouldn't be if I had a choice. It's a company phone, and most of us have this shitty RAZR MAXX.

So I got it to work at about 1:30 in the morning. Had to do this:

                  1. Hold Power + Vol Up + Vol Dn
                  2. In boot mode console, use Vol Dn to scroll to Recovery Mode option, press Vol Up to select it
                  3. Then that little guy I posted in the OP comes up, then where all the web says press Vol Up + Vol Dn simultaneously, they are wrong. You press Vol Dn, then while holding Vol Dn, Press Vol Up.
                  4. Scroll to Wip System Cache Partition using Vol rocker, then press power button to select.

Now texts work. Stupid Motorola. I want an S4 or an HTC One.

Man. It really sucks that I don't have to deal with that on my iPhone. I wish I had more problems out of it.

I don't know what people are doing, out of my 4 idevices I've never had my contacts wiped. I wonder if they're storing contacts on the cloud. I store mine on both my pc and google contacts.
