  • Need to find a good deal on a pc desktop

I need a pretty basic but decent and functional PC. Something basically just for work and school stuff. Really just need the tower, I have a monitor and keyboard. Any suggestions on where I can find a smoking deal?

    http://www.microcenter.com/product/4...sktop_Computer Has discrete graphics

    http://www.microcenter.com/product/4...sktop_Computer Has integrated graphics

If you need more basic, lesser spec'd, say the word.

Thanks for posting those! I think the 2nd one is probably more than enough to meet my needs. I just need it to run some engineering software, run MS Office, and browse the net without being slow. I use my Mac laptop for my everyday stuff. You already know how computer retarded I am!!

I'd look at the manu site to see if the option to upgrade to 7 is available, or at least if they offer the drivers. If they do, it'd be in your interest since you're familiar with it. 8 is a huge learning curve...

Edit:If the engineering software is graphics intensive, we need to consider other options. The integrated on that one won't cut it.

And yeah, I definitely want Windows 7. I've never used Windows 8, and don't even want to mess with it. We use Windows 7 at work and school also.

Where did you get that? I have a Discover rewards deal for 10% off through the Dell store, but I think the price I found was higher than $369.00.

How far are you into your course load? Will there be any drafting down the road? If so, make sure you have plenty of memory. I would consider 4 GB to be the minimum if so

I've already taken the Pro E class, I'm about 3 years in. I'm in mechanical, so not as much draft work as Civil.

                          Its under the outlet...

                          Dell.com/Outlet

I have bought and sold quite a bit from their outlet and scratch and dent. Never got one that I could even tell physically anything was wrong with it. I used to buy 5-10 of the laptops at a time and flip them and make decent money....
