Anyone know the real release date?

Based on all the blackout dates and trainings we have lined up, I'd assume sept 20th. The 10th is just the announcement.

And don't waste your money on a moto x, it's nothing special hardware wise, and it's overpriced for what it is. Just wait for the nexus 5 to come out.

I've been following it since it's release and it's seems they actually have nailed down a good product now. I'm past hardware and more about the software working with the hardware and that is exactly what this phone does. Hell I even read an article yesterday from a Nexus 4 loyalist that did a very detailed comparison of the two and the Moto X came out on top. As far as waiting for the Nexus 5, I'm on the big red V so I won't ever see a Nexus after the Galaxy Nexus debacle. Switching isn't an option as the wife gets a good discount at Verizon through her job.

I would hope they can make a better product than the nexus for more than twice the price. It does look nice, but it's just hard for me to go with anything motorola after all the issues I've seen with their previous phones. But, they have changed a lot, so maybe I'll have to give the moto x a try. Kinda waiting to see how the G2 is, also.

I went to AT&T the day of the release to get a feel for the phone and I will say this it feels really good in your hand as it's has a small footprint but with the same size screen as the HTC One. I probably went through everything on the phone for about 30 minutes and never one encountered any lagging from the device and you know that it gets man handled on display. There are a few things that need to be tweaked but all in all I was really impressed with Motorola on this. I never was fond of the Droid series they did so I can understand where you are coming from on the doubt side of things. I think if you give the phone a chance it will impress you. As far as comparing it to a Nexus 4 I think it was more of a pure android phone vs a 98% pure android device. Either way getting a Nexus 4 guy to say that the Moto X was a better phone is like pulling teeth as the Nexus community is a very tough crowd.

On the G2, I saw a video on that phone the other day and from that video I wasn't to impressed with the phone as it look just like another device packed full of things that no one will ever use. It just looked really cluttered and I really want to get away from phones that add their own skins on top of the android OS.

There are some management aspects of iOS7 that I am very interested in like per app VPN and some other things. But I am very underwhelmed with the iPhone5c and 5s. I'll just upgrade my 4s to iOS7 and call it a year.

Or perhaps I'll get an Android phone. The Moto X is kinda nice in a built in Ft Worth kinda way..

I'm going to go look at phones Thursday and have it narrowed down to the Moto X and the Samsung S4. Going to see which I like better in the hand as they are priced the same,

FWIW, my S4 has been the best phone I've ever had. Just the right size, not too big nor too small, really fast, great features, etc.

I switched from an iPhone 5 to a S4 and I hate this fucking phone, I should have never switched. I do like the screen size and a few other things better than the iPhone but that's about it.
