I moved into a new house that has two phone jacks, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. I got my DSL hooked up yesterday to a modem/router in the living room. When the dude hooked it up to the box outside he said that my house is at the end of the line so I may experience some connectivity issues or slow speeds and to call them if that happens. Well the speed sucks, so I took the modem to the master bedroom and hooked it up to that phone jack since it is closer to the cable box outside by around 50', and the speed improved. But now my issue is the fact that I use most of my wireless devices in the living room (laptop, iPad, PS3, etc) so I want something in here with a good signal as well.
So is it possible to plug something into the phone jack in the living room to give me a repeater signal? I have 2 Linksys wireless routers (WRT54GL and 4200v2) sitting in a box since this ISP modem is a wireless router as well. Can I use one of these to somehow get signal in the living room? I don't have a way to run a Cat5 cable from one router to the other since this is AF base housing I can't just drill into the walls, so it would have to be done wirelessly. Any help?
