  • Fios+Android users inspide por favor

Somewhat recently, anything I do google related on any of my android devices is slower than crap. Dling apps, watching youtube etc, it's just horrible when on wireless here at home. I have the 75/35 Fios and it's not limited to my phone, it's on my wifes GS2, Nexus7, A100 and Aria.

Can anyone else replicate his that's a Fios and Andoid user? FWIW, I've been through the whole reboot/reset the router, but it's only w/our android devices. I can be updating an app and run a speedtest concurrently and pull 20+Mbp/s, so it's not the devices.

Edit:I first believed the problem was only on our android devices, but it's also present on our 3 pc's and WD Live box as well.

Thee are some ip settings you can change on your router to make youtube load quicker. I'll see if I can find the article on it, some ISPs redirect it.

I just tested mine by downloading an app and watching 3 different Youtube videos. 2 were HD, no issues here. Samsung Galaxy/FIOS 50/25

Thanks for the replies yall. I called Vz and supposedly it's a caching issue w/Goog and how much bandwidth they allocate regionally to Vz subscribers. They *say it should have been corrected by today, but I've yet to try it today. The level 3 tech I spoke to did find it odd that the problem only affected our android devices.

Well so much for that, it took almost one minute to buffer the first 3 seconds of this vid, then got stuck buffering again.

Is your router setup for QoS?

With the exception of me setting it to use OpenDNS for my family and forwarding a few ports for ssh and vnc for a buddy, it's default config.

Look up QoS and YouTube problems.
