I ordered one. At $170 ($160 with employee discount) I figure it is a very affordable way to give Android a first try. It has version 4.1 installed with almost nothing else..

It only has 8GB of internal storage but it also has a MicroSD slot.

Not bad for the specs. It looks like they're trying to get into the Kindle Fire/Nexus 7/iPad Mini market based on the size and hardware.

If it is AOSP, no overlay and not locked down like Ft Knox, they might be able to compete at that price point.

I have a Nexus 7 and love the form factor. I'll have to read up on the specs of the Slate7 but if it's anywhere as good as the Nexus 7 it will sell well. Wish I had a MicroSD slot for more memory. For that price I might have to look into it.

Seems like the bezel size is pretty much the same for other 7" device. The iPad mini has a smaller bezel but larger screen (7.8")
