    Thoughts on Asus or Sony Vaio laptop with WIN8

    I need a new laptop and will probably buy one of these tomorrow at best buy. I narrowed it down to these two mainly for WIN8 which I'm not sure is necessary. I'm leaning toward the Sony but I have never owned one. I have always had HP's and Dells which I won't buy again. I like the ASUS but they don't have a smaller version with a optical drive(DVD/CD). Should I steer clear of both?

    I didnt look at either, but i'd get the asus. Good, and cheap.

        The only Vaio's I ever messed with reminded me of Mac unibody designs. Want to change memory? Too bad, buried in system board with no access panel.

          Out of those two, Asus. Hands down. Every Sony Vaio I have touched has been a piece of shit.

            The Asus is a lot more machine than the Vaio and won't be so uber proprietary.
