NEW...for $100 bucks I've heard the Klipsch 2.1's are fantastic.
I picked up some Creative Labs Gigaworks T20's for my laptop for travel for $50 bucks new in the box. These things rock for what they are.

For my desktop...I picked up a set of Logitech Z-680 THX certified 5.1 DTS/Dolby Digital 505 watt rms speakers used on Craigslist for $75 bucks complete and in the box.

I have yet to find ANYTHING that can match these FOR THE MONEY...these things are just rediculous and sound better than some home sound systems I've heard.

I bought Bose Companion 2 Series speakers last month. It has no separate subwoofer, but the sound is pretty impressive.

Not taking anything away from the Klipsch, but for the money and for a CPU, I would but the Logitech, I've had a first gen Logitech 5.1 with mini sub work very well, still going after 10+yrs. It was expensive (200.xx) when it first came out, I think I gave a member her $150.xx for it. I may buy the one you have in your link and give my old to my boy. You can't go wrong for a hundo...

There's 5 or 6 of us in the thread who have the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's and we love them. I've had mine since 2013 and they're still going strong. IMO they're the best option for the price.
