  • WTF did I just do? Problem with my Galaxy phone

So I had my wired headset unplugged from the phone (cord just dangling loose) and I ran over the tip with my chair here at work and didn't realize it. Went to plug it in and the movie I was watching started playing out load and clear. I realized that I broke the tip off and found it on the floor so I stuck it back in without thinking and now it's stuck in the headset jack of my phone. I don't think using tweezers is going to work for getting it out. Any ideas?

Lots of luck... Sorry, I have no clue what to do in this situation.

I figured as much. I'm going to have to find someone that does screen repair on these things and see if they can take the phone apart to get that little fucker out. Fuck what was I thinking

put a dab of superglue on the broken jack and I mean TINY AS HELL and put it back in the port.hopefully it'll grab the broken piece and you'll be able to pull it out in one fell swoop.
i've done this with another macbook pro before, you gotta be careful otherwise you done fucked it up even more.

I believe also that super-glue (tiny tiny amount) onto something tiny/then (maybe toothpick?); after curing might grab a hold and pull the tip out.

I was thinking the same thing about the super glue but I think there's a small pin sticking out of that I might be able to grab with some tweezers. Jezzus... I swear this shit would only happen to me...

nope, its happened to two of my cousins (girls) to their mbp's which I used this method on to get it out. and my aunt with her cell phone.

I too am a S3 user, I did find this disassembly guide

I never planed to take my phone apart, but if you go down that path, the jack itself appears to be modular and at the very least, might be easier to free the broken tip if no replace the entire jack (assuming you could find the part).

I had this happen on an iPad. Cut a q-tip in half, put a small dab of superglue on it, give it a little bit to "gum" up, stick it in the jack and hold it tight against the broken piece, give enough time for the glue to set, yank the fucker out QUICKLY!

Can your cell phone provider handle this for you? I know sprint has "techs" that fix these sort if things

If they did I'm sure it will require sending in the phone which I'd hate to do right now. If this fails I may look into that or possible just sell the phone. I'm just kicking myself for realizing what I did knowing I screwed up as I plugged in the headset.
