Want to get my wife a newer computer since her laptop is 5 years old and slow as hell. I'm looking on CL and found a relatively close seller with a Google Nexus 7? Says its unlocked and rooted; whatever the heck that means. Anyone with comments on it?

Is she wanting a tablet or a laptop? What is she wanting it for? Just web surfing and email? To answer your question it really depends on what she does on her computer. If she does a lot of typing or anything work or school related I would say go with the laptop. -

nexus 7 will be fine for surfing and stuff. But at $200 new I would just get her a new one. How big is it? I bet its one of the older ones and he is selling it for newer price. Used to be 8gig-$200 and 16gig-$250 but now they got rid of the 8 gig and its 16gig-$200/ 32gig-$250/32gig att-$300.Comment

I saw a few Nexus 7's on Craiglist going for damn near new prices and in some cases more for the 8GB. Maybe they didn't realize the price drop but I would just buy a new one.Comment
