  • Deflowering an iPad... With Windows 8

It took a bit of work and a little redneck engineering but I finally got Windows 8 running on VMware View and connecting to the VMware client on my iPad. It even works with my Bluetooth keyboard. The only thing that isn't working right now is multitouch. It still acts as if a mouse is attached.

I originally wanted to try this with a Windows 8 RT device like the Surface but VMware hasn't released a client for it yet. My company, HP, has also decided to not build an RT device for now. WinRT devices come with a Virtual Desktop Access (VDA) license that is required to connect to a virtual windows session. Other Win8 devices do not and those licenses cost upwards of $120 each..
