    ok, well it was only a few times. Maybe I am still ok. Is there a way listed in that link that will not shorten the life?

      the way listed in the link will help to maximize the life of your ssd. if I'm not mistaken, the average for read write cycles is about 10,000 times so you should be fine.

        At that point what happens? does the drive crash or do I just lose a bit of its storage space?
