    So are CAPS the new thing?

    All these new motherboards are bragging about how awesome and top of the line quality their capacitors are. When did this become a major thing, I've only blown one capacitor on any device ever and that was a video card. Is this really a major thing to be excited about now?

      Yeah, I gathered that watching the Mobo reps bragging about the stuff, but they put so much emphasis on it that it sounded like my motherboard could go out at anytime.

        That's their job, to make some trivial thing into a big deal and make you feel like you're a fucking idiot if you do not buy their product.

            it's also geared toward green energy. Everytime a energy provider connects to the grid it adds hormonics to the power, capacitors have to work in this environment and not blow up. Have you noticed all the AC units capacitors blowing up, I replaced over 100 this year. Everytime a solar or wind energy producing supplier pumps power back into the line it adds a tiny bit of trash.

                      Every motherboard I have had go out was due to blown caps. Old Epox board and also a stock POS HP desktop computer. I always thought it was pretty common for those things to puff up and pop.
