  • iPad 2 repair

Does anyone know where I can take my iPad 2 to have the docking connector replaced? Looking for somewhere trustworthy and local.

    Thanks

Beats the shit out of me. Went to plug it in and didn't hear the little beep like i normally do. Hit the home button and that didn't work either. Reset everything and kept dicking with it an finally got the home key to work but no charge.

I use the shit out of it and even have it in a case to protect everything. The dock port looks fine. Nothing broke or anything. Did some searching and looks like others have had the issue too.

OK, so quick update. I got the damn thing to charge finally, but now I am thinking something is loose. I plugged in the charger, and started pressing and squeezing by the connection on the ipad, and thats when it started charging.

I would still like to have someone take a look at it and correct whatever is the REAL issue.

So I still am needing help finding someone / some place reputable.

        Thanks

I've used this guy atleast 10 times. He has fixed ipads, ipods, and two ipads for me.

But he is a Chicago Cubs fan.

Tried half dozen of them all with the same result.

Figured I'd bring this thread up from the dead as a friend of mine was asking for a recommendation on who to fix the broken screen on his iPad 2. I contacted the guy below and he's asking $125 and 24-48 hours to fix it. Is this pretty reasonable? Any other recommendations on who can fix this?

                  You can get a used, near-mint-condition, 16 GB, WiFi-only iPad 2 for $200...

Do they even support that thing anymore?

They do, but it lags really bad on the latest IOS because of the ancient specs.

I think she has a 64 GB so it will likely be more expensive

I do not know what iOS version she's using but even if they no longer support it, for what she's using it for will be fine.
