  • Local Tablet repair?

My galaxy tab seems dead. I've tried all the google and youtube fixes and still nothing. Is there a local store anyone has experience in that I could try out. I usually can fix these things myself but having trouble with this one.

If anyone has advice (battery pull etc etc) I'm all ears, otherwise I'd like to find a shop to atleast get a quote from.

    its a 32G galaxy tab 10.1

Dead in what way? Boot loop, non-booting, splash screen and nothing else...

put your finger on the screen and hold the power button for 10 seconds.

if that doesnt work, hold the power button and the left volume for 10 seconds.

Dead in a sense that there is nothing on the screen and there is no sequence of keypresses that makes anything happen. I've tried taping down the power button for two days to drain the battery, holding down power, holding down power and volume down. touching the screen and holding power.

One time while I had it plugged into my usb on my comp. I got the computer to make the noise when it recognizes a new item. That lasted a whole second but thats the only sign of life I can get out of it.

if the batteries dead plug it up to the charger and do the above. There is a backup boot rom if you fucked up the rom and if its not turning on the finger on the screen trick works. Did you drop it?

I have done everything with it plugged into the wall, plugged into a computer, and totally unplugged. It has been dropped one time with a case on it but that was 6+ months ago. My wife is reading a book on it and put it to sleep at night....next day nothing at all.

Called samsung but they said its out of warranty.

Im capable of taking it apart to physically take out the battery but not sure if thats worth anything or not.

its not the battery. i wish i was there I'm sure i could fix it in 10 minutes.

Try blowing air in the connector area on the tablet and on the cable, thats notorious for getting dirty. it will cause problems with it charging if its not clean. I also can only charge mine with the power adapter that came with it. It wont charge on PC power unless you're using one of those USB PC CHARGER ports ( most computers dont have them ).

Nobody knows of a local repair shop I can trust? theres a cell phone repair store in Little Elm I thought about stopping by but I'd rather have a place that I know is good.

While holding the volume down button connect it to a computer with a USB cable and tell me what happens.

Google Odin 1.85, Dl it, Dl the drivers from Samsung, install them, open Odin and try again. Tell me if you get a yellow bar in the top of Odin that says COM.

INstalled Odin and the drivers. Still nothing when I plug it in. the bar on Odin is still black. I've tried pushing all the buttons on the tab at the same time as connected and still nothing. One time (not today but about a week ago) while pushing the power button I got the cpu to recognize it for a split second. Now I can't get it to do anything...

                            Have you tried this?

This may or may not work for most but this worked heavily for my 2 units that had the same issue. One with a broken nvflash, the other that faced a bootloop and never booted up again. Took almost a week and I felt almost all hope was gone because...

I did the tape on the power button for a few days but didn't know about the steps after that. I did plug it into the wall and didn't see anything. I will tape it down again now and let it sit for a while and try it again. What sucks is this was a factory rom...no rooting or messing with this piece and it still happened. All my other stuff is rooted and working fine!
