  • Best anti-virus software?

I've had Norton and just recently had Total Defense but it expired.

Microsoft Security Essentials works good for me, and it's free.

Another vote for MS Security Essentials here. I also use Clamwin and AVG as well as Malwarebytes for anti-malware.

i have been fairly happy with AVG, but there are a lot of good programs out now. make sure you get one that rates low in bloat.

AVG cripples our workstations when it runs it's random background checks.

curious, as mine reads the load of the computer, and doesnt run checks if i am doing anything noteworthy.
