  • testing for my CCNA tomorrow....

I could use some prayers and good luck. I've been studying for two weeks, although I don't think hard enough. I failed it last week by 10 pts, so we'll see....

Good luck. You are more committed than I was. I failed it on my first try by 5 or 10 points I forget now and I never retested. That was 10 years ago now and I still regret it. Now I'm sure a lot of it had changed so I would need to relearn everything.

Good luck, I took it last year and passed it the first go round. Still haven't done shit with it since no company is willing to offer someone with no work experience in networking what I make now.

Good luck. I'll be taking mine next year. Taking courses for it so I get more out of it than just trying to memorize a book.

              "companies" still want a ccna.

at the very least it gets your foot in the door. I was working at cisco where our department "required" them, I never got mine and the people I worked with that had theirs were idiots asking me how to do shit.

I passed it this morning...didn't do as well as I thought I would being the second time taking it but....a pass is a pass.

Cruz, this has been a personal goal for some time and to also help get me away from system administration and into network administration. Plus, you can't get your CCNP until you get the CCNA. I still have A LOT to learn.

Geofster, I had taken 3 of the 4 CCNA courses at DCCCD a few years ago so that definitely helped and took Todd Lammle's boot camp a couple of weeks ago. I don't think the test dumps work that well for the CCNA. The questions are similar but you still have to have a solid understanding of routing protocols, subnetting, switching, etc. Good luck with it.

                      1. Perfect score, or passing by 1 point - does not matter.

                      2. CCNA is still a prerequisite for the variety of professional exams and the CCIE exams...etc. IMHO, the CCNA is THE number 1 network exam out there. It does teach fundamentals as well as Cisco based stuff.

Congrats on passing. A lot of people have it, but a lot more have never tried or failed trying.

I got my CCNA many years ago, it wasn't too bad, just make sure you're well read.

Congrats. Been kicking this idea around too. What is a realistic expectation for study time?

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

                              I've heard about 120-160 hours.

Why would you be looking into it, though? That'd be quite the career change.
