  • Android ROM's

What ROM is everyone using lately? I've been using Absolution for my Inspire and haven't updated it in forever and looked into doing it tonight but it seems they have stopped updating it and moved on to something else. So I need some recommendations or options.

OK Bryan, I'm going to ask a question.

What's the difference between the different ROMs. In other words, if I installed that flapjaxx ROM a month after I've been playing around with the gubment cheez ROM, what would the differences be? Seems like a lot of the things you can really do to spice up an android can be easily done with a different launcher.

i dont think you can brick it. just follow the directions when you intially root and flash clockwork mod.

from clockwork you can always flash a new rom.

I'm running the latest STABLE CM7 rom (7.2.0) on my Evo 4G and really my only complaint is that the camera app in CM7 doesn't support HD 720p video recording. I tried CM9 but it didn't seem very happy on my single core Evo.

It could be a subtle as a mild theme(Color scheme) or actual changes in the code.

Not entirely true. For example, if you flash a ROM for an international(gsm) device on a cdma device, it will most certainly result in a bricked device. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

stock rom w/all bloatware melted + system corps corn kernel. 2,300 quadrant score. not bad for a 1 Ghz hummingbird processor.

aokp 4.0.4 on my s2, slim roms 4.0.4 on the captivate. Both have Google now working on them so I haven't bothered switching to buggy 4.1 roms yet.
