I have only one stick of Corsair XMS3200 512MB 400MHz memory in my machine. Unit will attempt to boot but flash up a black screen with words on it and then go dark. If I try to boot from the XP disc, sometimes it will get so far as to show the background wallpaper of the desktop but not the icons and then shuts down. Friend said memory. If I had two sticks I could swap them around one at a time to test but I only have one. So... Anyone have a good memory stick I can borrow or will Fry's or other place test my current memory?

I swapped the memory around a bunch of different ways but still had same reboot over and over. I pulled out an old hard drive that I replaced when it started making loud clicking noises and it booted right up. I reconnected the newer hard drive, pressed F8, changed the date back to April, defragged the drive and now everything works. I don't know if you're supposed to do what I did. Drive is a 320gb WD with 233gb available less than 2 years old with very little use. I now have a Kennsington 512 stick and Corsair 512 stick in the board. I think you are supposed to use same brand/model etc for memory but at the moment it is working. Comments?

I've found the Corsair xms ram to be the most dependable out of all the brands I've gone through. Crucial has 100% fucked me with absolutely no exceptions. 8 different sticks of ballistix, every single one of them over a 5 year running period went bad.
