  • Pick a video card TODAY

I believe that my onboard video card is done.

I've been without my pc for three weeks, and I just about cant stand it much longer.

I believe the slot is a PCI express, correct?

I believe the processer is an AMD Phenom x4 with 8G of ram, running Vista.

I don't know shit about video cards other than I want one today, and I'm willing to spend about $200 at Frys.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I don't play battlefield or anything with super high graphics. I play TF2, and CS source.

My buddy loaned me his old GeForce GTS250 to confirm that it is actually the video card, but this monster wouldnt fit. It had clearence issues with the red ribbon on the left side of the photo.

Simple solution, move the SATA cable to a different port to alleviate the clearance problem.

So youre saying as long as it fits a plug, it can go there?

I have to relocated two of these SATAs. One is great, the other SATA cable is too short to reach an open port. I have to run to an electronics store anyways to buy this different monitor cable, I guess I can just buy a slightly longer SATA cable as well?

Granted this is prolly much longer than you need, the right able connector is good to have in tight clearance scenarios.

Boom. 3 hours and $66 later, I'm back in business. Thanks Redneckers. Once again, you save the day.

damn fry's. While I'm there to might as well get a phone charger... then a CarCraft magazine... then a redbull to mix with tonight, then a fucking record. Damn the impulse guys.
