RAID setup with SSD?

I need some info from the pros on this. I have one intel SSD now for my boot drive and was looking to add another since I just ordered a new mobo, ram, and processor. I figured since I was doing these upgrades I might as well look into this.

Basically how easy is it to do and is there any real advantage since I already have SSD?

Imho, I don't think the difference will be appreciable, especially with the added cost and data loss risk.

I thought the failure rate of SSDs was so minimally low in comparison to platter drives that it shouldn't really matter? I mean, you'll always want backups of your vitals, but what's the point of having a backup of everything when that drive will still be 100% 200 years from now?

Ocz has/had a 7% failure rate on the vertex 3.

Basically like TXR said, the speed increase has been proven to be GOOD - but not whoopty!

I'd just go RAID 1 and done. However in my mind that is basically just backing up as you go. Be more cost effective to just back up to a NAS or something.

What is the purpose of the machine in question? Is this a "mission critical" machine that will house millions of user profiles, or data, etc?
