  • Laptop Problem

Hey guys so my sony vaio model pcg-61313L was working fine last week. I went to turn it on the other day and it wouldnt show any power so i took it to best buy to put another adapter to it just to scratch out that as a cause and still no power. Then we tried another battery and still nothing. So they told me they would charge X amount of dollars to see if its the jack and to take it apart etc etc.

So i said no to that and took it home got on amazon and ordered the 9$ part it just came in today and i put the new dc jack in and put everything back together and still no power. I have checked for any fuses on this motherboard and i do not see anything that could be wrong.

This laptop has never been dropped or mishandled so i have been putting a bad mobo on the side because of that. I just dont know where to start or what to test.

    What could be wrong?

I'm gonna say bad mobo. Likely cheaper to buy a new lappy.

You've pretty much already proven its the MOBO by trying a second battery, and then replacing the NON-BROKEN power jack. Sony laptops are known for frequent mobo as well as other failures....its more like their business plan to have them only last for a few years so they can try to sell you a new one. Take good pics of it and post it up on Ebay as a non-working PARTS machine then buy yourself something besides a SONY next time. New laptops are a dime a dozen now unless you are buying high end business class or gaming machines.
