I've heard that as a result of that incident, IBM still has a very strict internal travel policy....I believe it's something like no more than 2 employees from the same team are allowed to travel together.

I saw a documentary about it a couple years ago....that crash changed a lot both inside and outside of the aviation industry.

While those of us in my company aren't NEARLY the ballers those guys were, we have a similar polocy, no more than 2 Developers on a single flight and no 2 "C-level" people on a single flight. It makes for tough scheduling but it is worth it.

Why do all the iphone fan boys always talk about how hard it is to use an android, make it useable ect.... You have to be a complete dumbass to not be able to use one. I have made no modifications to my droid bionic, and I can use it just fine. I am not an Iphone fan, nor an android fan. I just wanted a decent phone.

IBM also had token ring, which everyone ditched for ethernet as soon as possible.

I have to agree here.... I always think its funny when someone says they couldn't figure out how to use an android phone. I guess it has too many buttons lol!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to drag and drop something on to the screen, or hit the menu button to get mroe options.

Just upgraded from the original evo to the evo lte and it has a recent apps button in place of the menu and search buttons.... I wish I still had my menu and search buttons, but they went with a more polished "less buttons" approach, most likely to attract the I sheeple.

Aren't you basically judging people based upon YOUR evaluation of normal, or simple, or easy?
I'm one of those that have a hard time with MAC computers. Things just "aren't right". Given time I figure them out and can navigate, but until then it just isn't intuitive, TO ME. This is MY take on the environment. Stereotyping people with things like "iphone boys", and "has too many buttons, lol", TO ME, really only show what these 2 particular people see and accept as easy, or normal. I do not judge you, don't judge me.

Oh, and for the record, I actually write software for a living. Not that it is super cool, or better than you, but I do care what "users" see, feel, etc.

The only brand I'm loyal to is the one that is paying me at the time.

It is not that android isn't easy to use or confusing, more so that Apple products are much more simplistic and easier integrated with everything else Apple. Simplistic is not a negative, why should someone give a garbage about setting up their phone, downloading and customizing applications, desktops, buttons, roms and all that awesome fun when they just want to have ease of use. The learning curve is just not as step, nor time consuming as android to have a full finish phone synergized with all their other Apple product for the nontechnical.

This. There are some things I want to be able to do with as I wish, and some things I just want to plain work, my phone is one of those things. Now if only they'd let flash run on ios...

That and if you wanted more memory you had to pay more. I went ahead and bought a X and have been very happy. I get tired of bitches wanting to hook up to my laptop or car to charge their shit!
It's funny you say that, because every iphone I've had went days on end on a single charge, damn near everyone in my large family has had the same luck. Meanwhile, a lot of the guys at work have Droid based phones, and their batteries are drained in half a day. Seriously, we have a last ditch cell phone by my desk and someone almost always had their phone plugged in it to charge. Since they are 50 different types of phones that run Droid software, it doesn't seem limited to one specific model. My brother-in-law does outside sales and says his is usually dead by 2pm if he doesn't plug it in.

Ah well. I like both. I have iphone because that's what my company pays for, just seemed strange that my experience was the exact opposite of yours.

Exactly DamonH, as time goes on, the open idea for hardware and operating system is going to become less and less for mobile devices. You cant have 50 different vendors making 50 different phones and running the same OS and expect the best in performance. Apple has this market perfect, and with Microsofts tablet being all in house including hardware, they probably noticed this as well. Home computers will be gone in a few more years ( I would say within the next 6 years ), at least as far as having to buy all this random hardware and lego them together.

Be ready for 512 core processors that can do video and math processing that require half the amount of power now and data storage thats near limitless and remote.

When Vz launched 4G LTE, they launched thunderbolt, and that's what I wanted since NYC was going to offer LTE. Not a great phone for battery life, but the big battery gets the job done. One of the primary reasons I wanted 4G LTE was to tether, and use the phone as a WiFi hotspot, which has worked great the entire time I've owned the phone, and really come through in a pinch when my broadband was broke, or out in the field working. I could have had my company get me a broadband card, but I just make my phone do it for me, and I'm grandfathered in w/ unlimited data, not that I use a ton.

I'm looking forward to an upgrade this November, to whatever the hot 4G LTE phone is on Verizon.

I do also like my rooted phone for UI speed improvement, few other tweaks, but primary motivation to spend the 20-30 minutes learning and doing that was to create a (at no extra charge) mobile hot-spot for myself, or have to go through the red tape @ work to req a mobile broadband card/account.

If there is a 4G LTE apple phone in November, I'd consider it, though all in all I'm pretty happy w/ tbolt, and the 4.3" screen size (might even prefer bigger).

i just changed from the ip4 to galaxy nexus on verizon. my iphones battery blows this nexus out of the water. the nexus will be dead by 2 everyday, iphone goes until 7-8. same usage for both.

i was happy with my iphone i only upgraded for 4g. which i rarely have. when i do its great. but this phone loses service more than women lose keys. if the new iphone is 4g im going back to apple
