actually I think the update I got today was for the google search.

use ota rootkeeper next time to preserve root.

edit: I just turned off wifi, i'm getting some 4g here at home but its way low strength.
using the evo, not worried about keeping root since I haven't bothered getting s-off yet, and after I do I won't be too worried about OTAs(at least now that I have LTE and google wallet working). Pretty damn easy to root, unfortunately 2 days ago I cleaned up the random files on my desktop(all root stuff was there) and will have to re download off XDA lol.

I didn't have 4g when I looked yesterday, but when I got to work this morning I had it. I can finally use the internets on mah phone

The '3G' was utterly useless before..

Well, I guess they didn't put the LTE units where the old WiMAX units were. I use to have 5 bars of 4G here at my office, and I only have 3G here now. Oddly, friday night I had 4G at a movie theater at I20 & carrier pkwy.

And don't ask me why, but ft worth shows to have a SHIT LOAD of LTE towers, dallas only has a handful, and arlington appears to have 1 lousy tower.

Yeah, I don't think I have 4G at the house (Little Elm) but I have a good signal at work (The Colony - 4 out of 6 bars), which is strange cause they are not but 7-8 miles away from each other.

              Carrollton has none!

Just like right now, even with 3G, i'm in a fucking no signal zone in my neighborhood in the middle of Carrollton.

So is the 3g supposed to be improved as well? 3g on my Evo 4g (original) is pretty terrible.

I hate my brother (on AT&T) when he pulls out his iphone and starts to stream netflix or a youtube vid in less than 10 seconds. I can't ever do that or my wife (iPhone 4s)

no 4g signal at work, barely any 4g signal at home.

Sprint is showing 690 sites for 4G in "DFW" for the initial rollout... Not sure how many are active at the moment.

My signal is a little lower at the office at Legacy & DNT and the same garbage at home 3 blocks sw.

                      That must include WiMAX towers.

I'm on Alpha/Midway and zero 4g. My house off Jupiter/Renner I get like 1~2bars of 4g if that and it switches to 3g and back

I have a Sprint EVO 4G and rarely am able to get a reliable 4G signal. And I agree with those that said the 3G data sucks ass on this phone. Super slow.

if it wasn't for the $60 dollar a month savings per phone, I would have regretted switching over from ATT.

If you're not getting coverage yet I just read that only 10% of the towers are live, not exactly a great way to do a rollout.... saw this over on XDA
I'd like to set up a list of known good locations to test 4G LTE around the Metroplex.

If you have a great place to test, please list it here. I'd love to have some verification that I actually have working LTE... I haven't seen hide nor hair of anything over 3G on my phone so far.

Note: Please don't post where LTE isn't working. That's counterproductive to this list. Also realize that at the time of this posting, Sprint is less than 10% complete with the D/FW rollout, so there are a LOT of places that aren't up yet. Finally, please also remember that LTE coverage has been reported as spotty in some locations, so if you get there and don't get LTE, it's not necessarily the end of the world.

Places I've heard have an LTE connection:
