    android is trash if not rooted/free of manufacturer apps and craps.

    that said, i have a samsung galaxy 10.1 that's rooted on ICS. it's still not that great and b/c sammysung hasnt put out an ICS release some drivers dont work like the camera.

    android is overwhelming at first, but if you play with it youll love it.

    ive had an android tablet that i hated(not rooted) and a samsung galaxy s II i got last week that i really like.

    there are so many options and speed is huge when compared to my 4s that i sold to get the android, ended up puting $150 extra in my pocket.

    I haven't have any problems so far with the Gingerbread build. Everything works as it should. And there are ways to deal with bloatware. Open source is infinitetly better than proprietary.

    My old ass Evo 4g worked fine right out the box, but once Bryan rooted it and removed the bloat software that I couldn't remove from the stock Rom it got even better. I've never had any of the problems your having. Maybe you should go get an old Motorola brick phone.
