iPhone 4 replacements

This has probably been touched on in the past, but what about now? New phone must have come out and options are a bit broader. Ill be sticking with AT&T since the only other carrier I would be interested in (Verizon) cant come close to our package. Plus most my friends and family use ATT, free calling.

Currently have a Iphone 4 16g (not the S) and eligible for an upgrade. I am SICK of this phone's slow processing. It can never keep up with my typing, its always a few strokes behind. Its battery life is shit. If I listen to pandora or my mp3's during a 12 hour shift (for about 1/2 that time) its in the red when I get home.

I want 4G speeds, quick processing, great camera/vid. Im not a game player or a app d/ler anymore. I text, surf, call, and listen to music.

Suggestions? Is the iPhone 4S the upgrade Im looking for?

I was in your same shoes. I've had the last three gens of iphones. The problem is, they are just slow. After a while of use loading takes longer. I understand the issue with the keystrokes being behind too, that shit sucks. When my iphone got stolen I was going to replace it with another one, but when I was at the store I saw the nokia lumia 900 from all the commercials. Seeing as I was about to drop $500 on a phone I figured I'd shop around a bit. I hadn't ever messed around with the new windows OS, but let me tell you, it is freakin sweet. I ended up buying the lumia and couldn't have been happier. This phone just flat out rules. The OS is slick, good looking, extremely intuitive, and flat out fast as a fox with $5k. it's 4g lte, so not only is the os quick, but interwebz is too. I can't say enough about the speed. I hardly wait for anything: its just click boom. That was my main concern and I can honestly say I'm completely satisfied with the quickness of this thing. The phone has an 8mp camera with the dual led flash and pictures look pretty dang good. The phone also has a Gorilla glass screen that will not scratch or break which is pure awesome compared to the amount of replacement glass I ran through on iphones. It has 16gb internal memory and 25gb free on microsofts verson of " The Cloud." One drawback is that music is all through zune (I'm an itunes fan) but I haven't had any trouble with it. Battery life is pretty solid and I can make it from 8am-midnight using that fuck out of it. one other cool thing is the voice recognition. It's voice tracking is better than siri IMO. I use it all the time and it is incredibly helpful. Even big stuff like " Find Smashburger Addison" is recognized quickly. I'd definetly go check it out before deciding on another iphone.

I have the iPhone 4s 64g and it it tons faster than my wife's 4 16g. I'm happy with it and I'll be bailing it out once I get to Guam (no AT&T service there). Pandora runs almost all the time on mine

I have one I use in the winter when Im in a sanding dumptruck with no cigg lighter to plug in a car charger and working 12 hour shifts.

Ok, I was at the register and was going with the Skyrocket. It took me over an hour to decide between it and the Lumia. Both cool phones! As I was saying; I had the Galaxy in my hands and BAM! "Nevermind, Ill just go with what I know. Gimme a iPhone 4S please." So, I bought it. Definately a bunch faster and the 4g is a nice little touch. THanks guys, not I get to spend another 200 on one for my wife tomorrow. woopee! (Siri sold it for her. Plus the 8mp cam)

Sorry to hear that.

Although there is one way to keep an iphone running fast - don't put any music/video on it. On the iphone that I had they ran great until the storage was almost full, then they run like c4 vette. My skyrocket runs like a champ no matter what is loaded on it.

And Denny, the skyrocket does have spelling/grammar correction on it - Trick just doesn't know how to use it.

Eh, is what I know. I'm a creature of habit I guess. I'm typing this right now with no keystroke lag etc and this phone has a mirror image of the content my 4 had. So far so good. And do we really expect grammar/spelling/literacy out of relinquished?

That 4S isn't actually 4G, they just put a 4G logo in there for marketing purposes. It's a 3G phone.
