    xbox 360 e74

    Well like the title says.. i got the damn e74 xbox error i believe heatsink issue from what i have been reading. I went to radio shack and bought thermal paste took apart the xbox and put the paste on all heatsinks and the small little rams.

    I am still getting the one red light. Has anyone had any success fixing this??

    Edit: i was so pissed getting down to the last option i pushed down on top of the heat sinks coolers and turned it on while pushing firmly and it fkn turned on!! I put everything back together and turned it back on and its good to go. Hopefully permafix. Taking it apart was a pain in the ass!

    My brother in law had that issue. He replaced the x clips I think he called them with screws to hold the Board down. Said either he saw how to do it on craigslist or YouTube. Lasted three more years that way. I went thru two xboxs then bought the nyko cooling fans. They are a bit loud but haven't had a problem fir the last 4 or 5 years. I put some hours on it too. Between me and my son its crazy. I know I put bout three a day and my son probly the same. Not to mention Netflix and YouTube and movies ect

      I took my x clips off and it works fine. I just used the nylon washers and stainless washers with new screws. I believe llamas rrod fix is basically what I referred to for questions. If you need some help with it just pm me and I'll guide you through it. I've done roughly 15 Xboxs now for people. I have all the part numbers you will need at home depot

        I did the same mod and it lasted almost a year. Finally gave out again. Bought an elite almost 2 years ago and so far no issues.

          I got the elite when they first hit the shelf. It died lol. The second one I made sure had the updates. The fans probly helped this one last so long

              That would be the only reason I'd own one. Seeing as I have a blueray player and PSN sucks. I can't find reason yo get one. Lets not pretend that the PS3 hasn't had problems

                Yeah PM the part numbers just in case i need to go. SO far no problems (cross my fingers).
