Uverse vs dsl

Att " high speed internet" is DSL right? Anyway, the best internet I can get out here is a download of 1.5 mbps which I can't ever reach. If I switch to uverse, will I get a better signal? I tried calling at&t but their customer service sucks.

I went from 6 meg down to 18 meg down when I went from dsl to Uverse.

I have 18 with Uverse but have had a ton of trouble with them. They just came out today and the guy had to rewire almost everything, apparently the installer had everything pushing the limits and my tv and internet were both suffering severely. Previously on my wireless on the laptop the best I had gotten was 3mbps download, after the guy just finished I am at 16mbps.

This place down the street called Suddenlink says they can give me a download 10 mbps and upload 512k
