How to setup a USB laser printer to be wifi usable?

Pretty sure I've heard of people doing this but I can't seem to locate the info so I thought I'd ask here to all of you geniuses.
I have an old HP laserjet 1012 portable laser printer that I would like to setup in a very small space under a desk...and would like to be able to access it wirelessly by using an old wirless router I have laying around. This printer is a pretty low end monochrome printer and only has USB input. By hooking up an external WIFI router can I make this work?
