So I found a USB drive in Ft. Worth.... Security measures?

So I was walking through down town Ft. Worth tonight w/ some business associates I notice a small USB drive laying on the ground. Of course I pick it up and figure if all else fails I'll format it and use it as a thumb drive. However, I'm a bit worried about just plugging it in to my main PC. Any suggestions on ensuring it isn't a "bait" for phishing or other nefarious devices? (Obvious anti-virus updates, etc can be assumed on the target PC are updated and are in place.)

You can run a bart pe system and mount it in there. Pretty much isloated at that point.

Learn it, use it - it is as good of a suggestion as anything else.

Only other easier thing is if you have an old desktop/laptop with no network access - that you don't care about. Just plug it in there and see what happens.

Personally, I live life on the wild side and would just plug it into the most important PC in my house and wing it.

So, I did as suggested and looks like this thing has some medical info on it that could get the owner in some seriously deep shit.

Anyway, looking for the owner of this thing is starting to become difficult. If I don't find them in the next week, I'm keeping it! 16 gigs, and smaller than my thumb, not bad. IMHO.

Thus my reasoning behind trying to find that someone. I work with many customers who have to follow HIPPA, SOX, etc and know the value of the data.
