    Web hosting

    I'm in need of some place to host a website other than out of my house since my connection sucks.

    Anyone have any recommendations for a host that is reliable and inexpensive? This is for a future endeavor that I am starting off as a side project.

    I have been with site5 for over a year, American run host. Very awesome support.

        Haven't really thought about a budget yet. Right now, it needs to be cheap, but reliable. As it gets off the ground, I can reevaluate my needs and budget.

        Currently, I am only hosting photo galleries, but will be looking at an e-commerce direction for purchasing photos (maybe have the ability to automate the process from checkout to delivery of photos to a lab, to delivery via mail or Fedex/UPS).

        I know most of the above is done through programming, so as long as the host supports PHP, javascript, jquery, and the other popular languages and add-ons, then I can work around it.

            abecx is probably a good option, I've been using ipage for various family member's pages.

                I mean there are a ton of 5 dollar hosts at there; hostgator, site5, directi, bluehost, etc..

                I host all my servers colo and VPS in Luxembourg. The VPS's are cheap as shit, but the colo is a bit more since its Euro.

                  Out of the many host providers I've used in the past, HostGator has been the most reliable and affordable for Linux VPS. They also offer very robust shared hosting plans that are quite affordable.

                    I would highly disagree about stability. I used to host my sites there and I had to move them somewhere else because of the downtime.
