  • Sprints next generation of android phones?

Someone please clarify this for me....I'm going to be upgrading soon and I see they are advertising the Evo 4G LTE... However I don't recall this being the next big phone from HTC. Is this the One-X? Or is that yet to come?

    It's the sprint variant.

Insufficient answer, unable to determine what you're saying.

The Evo LTE is the sprint variant of the One XL.

Is there any better phones planned in the near future?

Unless they get a variant of the Samsung SGS3, no.

Non-removable battery on that phone though, would not recommend.

While some might deem the One X's combination of svelte unibody profile, quad-core power and 720p display to be downright witchcraft, we knew differently. Fortunately, there's now scientific proof to back us up, courtesy of PCOnline, which has performed a delicate autopsy on the Chinese variant of HTC's new flagship. To explore that polycarbonate shell, a narrow plastic tool to is eased in behind the screen and around the face of the device, with the majority of the phone's tightly packed innards -- including the Tegra 3 processor -- attached to the display half. Some contacts, however, were left on the inside of the unibody, including the NFC chip. Most of the quad-core thinking parts were clustered around the 8-megapixel sensor, while the battery dominated the center of HTC's big hitter. Anyone who gets their kicks from the gentle undoing of all that engineering hard work can watch it unravel in grisly detail at the source below.

god damnit I forgot about that... son of bitch.

Oh well, maybe I'll try it, if the battery goes out I'll just have it replaced I guess.

It doesn't have an easily removable pop-out/pop in type battery. You could still grab a small screwdriver and tear it down and replace the battery if you needed. You just won't be able to quickly swap batteries if your phone is dying and you had a spare.

Yeah I'm a total battery hoarder. I have 7 batteries for my evo and I swap them out all the time. But, that's because it's battery life is complete dog shit. Hopefully this one is better.

i like to flash and mod the shit out of phones. A phone being locked and not having a battery to remove is an instant deal breaker for me.

yeah that's a good point, how do you force a hard reboot? On all my android phones it does a bullshit shut down when you hold the power button, it's not really off, you press the on button and the lock screen appears.

Disable fast boot and it'll fully shut down.

Sorry....no interchangeable/high capacity battery option...and no memory card slot? That was a HUGE mistake for HTC to make. Specs and performance won't matter if your battery goes dead while trying to use it. Some people actually DO use all the memory their phone can use (I have a 16gb card and I've only used about 5gb of it so I'm not one of them)....movies, music, pics, documents. I don't see this phone doing very well against the SGS3.
