  • Yep...I think my IP4 is bricked

I can't get the fucking thing to boot up. Was running 5.0.1, then cydia crashed taking out the OS. I attempted to re-install 5.0.1 and error coded out of the install with iTunes.

Went to try 5.1.0 or whatever the new shit it, and I'm still getting errors in iTunes - 1601 or 2005. WTF man. Tinyumbrella or the newest redsnow isn't fixing shit.

After yelling and cussing it decided it wanted to install the OS finally.

Iphone was great in 2007. Iphone was surpassed in 2008 when Android came out. Iphone has gotten WORSE with EVERY update that has since been released...and in some cases has been rendered inoperable by some of these updates. Battery life SUCKS on Iphone....and there is no installing a larger battery in the Iphone....you can replace it if you want to take the thing completely apart and risk breaking it...or PAY someone to do it. Glad I can just toss in my high capacity battery on my old ass Evo 4G and use it for days. Oh yeah...I can use Wimax 4G on my ancient Evo 4G...and the internet looks so much better on my larger screen. I've used a 3G, 3GS, and Iphone 4.....sorry....I'll take my used Android Evo.

My 4 is slow as shit too. I just love how Apple has yet to make the center button last longer then two years. When my contract comes up for renewal, I am switching to Verizon and getting a android.

I find typing/texting on my iphone is way more easier and I'm much more accurate than when i'm on my skyrocket.

I'm not trying to be an iphone/apple fanboy here, but shit I charge my iphone every two days because it lasts that long, my android will die with the quickness! IF you have every taken apart an iphone, you will literally see how just god damn easy it is. Its not hard, and if it is hard for you (not you personally) you shouldn't be dicking around with it anyways. I gotta ask what updates have made the phone inoperable?

I prefer my android phone than my iphones mainly for the screen.

I had a 3Gs for over 2 years and the home button still worked like new. The only reason I'm not using that phone anymore is because I dropped it and broke the screen, haven't fixed it yet.

i just replaced the home button. talk about very time consuming, you practically have to take the entire phone apart. talk about some very small screws in there.

works like new now, or even better than before

You can download for free several different styles of keyboards for Android (including some that duplicate the one in IOS) that might make that better. I will admit that the STOCK keyboard app in IOS works better than what came in my EVO. Ive repaired several Iphones (batteries and screens) and I agree its easy....but most people are technically challenged and dont have the tools. Its not any one update that fucks up the phones.....it seems like its random. I never updated my 3GS past 4.0.2 and it worked fine (it was JB and unlocked). I know a number of people who did update their 3GS's and 4's and their phones locked up completely or got so slow they were unusable. I didn't know shit about Android until 2010 when a buddy of mine had just got an Evo 4G and I liked the larger screen, the kickstand, the double LED flash, the speaker (the list goes on and on).....I finally got rid of my 3GS last fall and found a USED Evo 4G....and I do NOT regret the switch.

After having a wake up call dealing with Apple on how they treat their app developers, I honestly do not see how they are going to last much longer... it's fucking absurd the shit they require/take from developers.

                        I've heard about that stuff.

I have an iPhone 4 on AT&T and my company is on Verizon. When my contract is up with AT&T they will be getting me a phone for Verizon, and I'm going back to Android. I can't wait.

I just got my first Android phone two days ago, an LG Nitro 4G LTE.

I was coming out of an iPhone 3G (not S) that I cracked the screen on. It had always been so slow at doing anything that I never downloaded any apps for it - literally, zero apps. Even texting seemed to choke it; as I typed it would be a consistent ten characters behind me.

This new phone is so damned fast I can't believe it (15.8/9.2). I've had this thing for less than 48 hours and don't think I'll bother going back to Apple again.

It could be due to an sw upgrade or being dropped. When I first got mine it was quicker than anything I ever touched and NEVER lagged. After a few drops and/or upgrade it is slower then a two legged turtle... It is not horrible but something ain't right and is quite annoying..

I can think of a lot of reasons that it was slow. But now I don't give a shit.
