  • HDD life Span?

I used to be in the habit of running them for about 2 years before copying to a new drive - but I've gotten lazy as of late. What type of life do you expect out of hard drives these days?

I've been meaning to post this for a while and CJ's HDD crashing thread made me go ahead and post.

In my experience, anywhere from 2 weeks to 7-8 years. I have some old drives that still run, although not used often. A ton of variables, but they can die out of no where too.
