  • transferring cell serv. to another phone

I recently cracked the screen on my Evo and rather than having it fixed, I'm thinking about buying my buddy's GSII. Here's the dilemma. He deactivated the phone already and says all I have to do is call Sprint and activate it with my number. This doesn't seem like it would work. From what he says, his contract is not up yet but the phone is no longer in serv., therefore he assumes he can pass it on to me. What if it was to work and he defaults on the contract a month or two later?

Anyway, can someone please enlighten me? I'm completely ignorant to all this smart phone/contract stuff.

Call sprint to verify the ESN is clean, if so, have them transfer your service to it. Before that's complete, make sure everything on your device that can be backed up to El Goog, is.(contacts...)

...so you think it will work even though his contract is still activate?

Cool. Then on to the next question. When I look at my contact, 93 of them are saved to Google and 86 are saved to phone. How do I get them all saved to Google?

Didn't work. I can not activate that phone with my number because his contract is still running. His phone is assigned to his contract. He is either going to have to buy out, cancel, or activate another phone to his contract in place of the GSII.
