  • Bricked my Skyrocket...

Owned it over a week and I know have an unusable device. Damn that's gotta be a record for me. I was using ROM Manager and flashing my second ROM of the day trying to get the functionality I wanted and the phone turned off and never came back up. Took out my SIM and SD Card and pulled the battery and waited a while. Put the battery back in and tried to power it up and nothing. Any ideas?

I know there are some ways to recover that stuff. Never had to, but maybe one of the links in the search will help you. I thought they were fairly resilient from a bricking point of view.

So I was playing around with these steps but can't really get anywhere because I can't access a copy of Odin from work (blocked). But I tried the steps to boot into the Download mode and I get nothing. The device is not powering up at all.

Anyone willing to give me a hand with trying to fix this? Just trying to figure out if I should be trying to just take this phone back to AT&T and see if I can exchange it for a new one. Thoughts? Jezz I can't believe I screwed this up. I used to this all the time with my Windows Mobile phones

Join xda and search for your issue in the SR forum. If you can't find the answer, start a new thread w/what you were doing and what you've tried so far.

Put back in hold vol down and plug in usb while holding,
And open odin even of no lights if odin picks it up on com port ur good.

I've been a member of XDA for years, since back in my WinMo days and I've been doing some reading on there for the past week since getting the phone. What's complicated things is I've been working 14 hour days and haven't had time to really start digging into this problem today with how busy we are at work. But I really appreciate the help and the links. I won't have any free time to even visit an AT&T store till the weekend so I'm going to see what I can do in the mean time.

i did not get my first iphone until about a year ago. before that i listened to a lot of friends complain about the performance of their iphone after updating them. so when i finally got an old 3g i fully restored it without updating it to a newer update. also did the same with my 3gs

i have yet to have a single problem with either one

(take that back my emails do not always send right away, but i think that is my crappy email provider's server)
