When I set it up in Austin it took nearly 5 days for them to get the service working at my house and it ultimately ended up being a problem in one of their roadside cases. Setting it up in Red Oak was a little easier but we still had a couple of issues that required them to send out a tech...and again the trouble ended up being with their equipment and not ours.
It didn't work for me either. After about 5 days of going back and forth with them, I told them to give me a measured line, which is $5 a month, and everything magically worked.
I sent Paul a PM explaining it but dry loops are harder to test because a normal "wet line" with dialtone has battery so you can see defects on the line like shorts, grounds, etc. With a dry loop you cant see any of that stuff so all you can really do is see how far it kicks and hope its all the way to the central office.
That being said, if a tech was dispatched to install it then he should have tested for sync at the demark but if its an apartment or established residence then there may already be a complete loop going there and the install will be no field work since the system thinks its all connected already but alot of times that connection has been broken.
Anyway if anyone ever needs help getting a escalation ticket in the system PM me and I can send a ticket to our refferel people. I dont get credit for anything except sales but supposedly repair tickets get fast tracked going through this way.

Pretty sure that is what the issue was for me, but it didn't seem like the people on the phone got that. I got tired of calling them over and over and saying it doesn't work and I talked myself into having an emergency home line.(which I have not used in the 3 years I have been there)
Thanks Lason, and big thanks to Rafa, who spend 2 hours on the phone, but we finally got it working. I just set up my WiFi and everything is good to go..
Thanks again..Owe you a beer
