  • 5.0.1 battery drain

This sucks. After my upgrade, I can watch my battery %'age drop. Hopefully it's addressed soon. I'm already at 80% after being unplugged 2 hours with normal use. Normally it would still be in the 90's.

    Dammit apple.

Gingerbread has that issue too. Is your's constant? Mine happens about once or twice a week.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

That's likely an app keeping the CPU from entering deep sleep. Dl current widget, watch dog and cpu spy from market. Set watch dog to alert if an app consumes more than 40% of cpu time so you can see what the offending app is. Current Widget will show your current draw at any given time and CPU Spy will show what speeds and amount of time it's been in that state.

There are many reasons why I kept my 3gs at 4.0.2

                Go to "settings>location services>system services(at very bottom)"

I have everything off except the Compass calibration.
I don't use the traffic, but if you do on the maps, you can leave it on.

Try that to see if it helps.

So you have Bluetooth and Wifi off? What about location services and email checking? Mine uses more battery than it did before the upgrade but I've been able to get close to 12 hours of use on mine with moderate usage (texting, surfing, watching some movies, etc).

                      LOL

I read up on that IOS before I updated and read up on what to turn off once you update to it. Don't really notice any more battery drain before the 5.01 update. I only turn on wifi when I use my wifi at home or at a friends house.

Also change the email setting like Jose mentioned. I have my email checking set to manual, just forgot to mention it.

No battery drainage changes on mine since I did the update a while ago.
