Super nintendo/nintendo64 and sega had $60+ games. That's one of the reasons games went to CD rom. Cheaper to produce. I can't remember the last time a big name game wasn't $60 new. Probably Ps1.

Never had a rrod. I did aquire mine through a friend who did but he treats everything like shit so Im sure his xbox wasnt an exception. My brother is on his 3rd box but he takes it all over the place so Im guessing it has something to do with moving/shaking or whatever youre typically not supposed to do with any electronic.

I remember that PS1 games costed around $40 new and $50 for the multi cd games. 9/9/99 I got Final Fantasy VIII for $40

I just got a new slim line from my wife for Christmass and it is pretty nice. I had lost 5 I think of the others. The last one took a bit of a thunder bolt during a storm but the others got the RROD. I guess Gears of War is a beast on them. My last one was a Elite I bought to cure that problem. Was playing GOW2 one night and it looked like curtains on the screen and the video card was fried. It was less then six months old and never left the shelf it was on. I tried the fans and everything else with no good results at different times. Different houses also so that rules out weird electrical issues. When I posted about my Elite dying on Xbox live the mods deleted the post and there was nothing questionable at all about the post. Still like them though they just built a console that overheated. I was on a decent size team at one point and we always joked about the team having a few spares to pass out so many members had issues with them.

I'm still on my first generation Elite. Had the RROD and was fixed and is still clicking along. It's loud as hell with the fans but it's still working

No bs. I ran my 360s. I played FFXI at the time where they were on around 20 hours a day. 2 at the same time. What you Microsoft fanboys don't understand is that when you send an Xbox in for repairs, they send you a old box that they "fixed" and is destined for another rrod or other malfunction. The new ones may be fixed.. Idk and IDC I won't buy another.. 360, 720, 1440... They are all rushed..
