not to be a thread jacker, but can the same concept be applied to the DVRs for like Verizon FIOS? I pay $14 month for recordable dvr...so that's $200 a year I can save

TBH, I don't know how DVR with FIOS works, but I'm sure there's a unit out there you can buy.
