So im looking at the Ipad 2 VS the Asus Transformer Prime.

it seems that the PRime has better specs but the Ipad 2's MAJOR redeaming feature is the Appstore. IT just seems the android marketplace cant compare to the development for IOS.

anyone use both of them? how do the ipad 2 guys like it?

i have the samsung 10.1, similar to the old transformer. the prime should be much nicer.

the lack of appstore wasnt an issue to me at all and still isnt. i cant think of a single app that i want that's apple only.

now the only thing i like better about the ipad is iOS runs smoother than android. i'm on 3.2 and it's gotten somewhat better now. biggest thing that helped was to dump the default browser and switch to dolphin.

i still choose the android tablet. the layout + widgets is much nicer for what i need it for.

I'm picking up a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tonight as well. These things are hard to get for a decent price, people still trying to sell them $450+.

Honestly, I wouldn't touch anything iWhatever (pad, pod, etc.) because of no native flash support. Yeah yeah yeah, everyone is saying Flash is going to be crushed and be obsolete and that Silverlight will rulez teh wurldz.

Don't care, it works now, all the major sites use Flash...win.

I've got an Ipad2 coming for Christmas. I wanted an android tablet, but you can't argue with a free Ipad2.

That said, there's very few apps that aren't android as well as ios. The few that are typically are in the process of getting an android version up and running. Android really has taken a chunk out of apple's portable device market, and it would be stupid not to develop in both going forward.

There's a part of me that really wants Microsoft to get a stable Windows 8 tablet on the market at a competitive price, so I can use it for corporate connectivity to Remote Desktop Web, etc. I have yet to look into the Citrix apps for IOS, but I will definitely try them out when the ipad gets here.

I'd love to be able to be on the road, or out and about with just a tablet in my backpack, or even in the girlfriend's purse, so that if something came up for work, I could hop right on and take care of it, without having to pull the laptop out and go through all of that mess.

No experience on the androids, but I use an iPad for business use. At first I didn't like it, and there's still some things I refuse to do on it (like use our quoting system), but it's growing on me.

I have an ipad2 that I bought in august. love the hell out of it,fast startup time, fast, smooth and easy operation. sometimes the no flash gets in the way of some browsing(very little), but for the most part its not a big deal. If you correspond back and forth a ton I wouldnt recommend it, but if your just using it to surf, watch video's(watched season's 1-5 of The Wire on HBO go app), music, apps, etc its great.
