Galaxy Nexus - Friday

I read about the lack of bloatware, that is nice to hear. Do you use Exchange email? Was curious how well the mail client was working.

Also, this is a big phone, how do you feel about the size/shape?

Any initial thoughts on battery life?

My upgrade period was yesterday and was able to get one.

Battery sucks.... I installed "juice defender", I know the dev personally and he is a genius. Literally, my battery life on my old device doubled because of it.

Size is perfect once you get used to it.

The new suite of google apps is amazing... VERY polished. I dont use exchange, so that's a question for the V-Reps.

One thing I do not like about the OS... when I turn the screen off manually (put it to sleep) it always locks the device and doesn't adhere to the sleep rules. I know this is by design, but It's just a habit for me to turn my screen off when I am not using it... you know, save the planet 'n shit.

I'm reading about bitching on the battery, waiting to see how that feedback may/may-not change after a few weeks of use.

So far my battery life has been pretty good but i'm also very strict on my data usage, pretty much all my data is used only if I go into that particular app, such as email.

Facebook sync doesn't work -and I don't think I miss it.

I agree 100%, this is a kick ass phone. I don't use much data and I'm getting a days worth of battery life out of it. I'll check out ultimate Juice to see if that increases it any more. The FedEx guy just delivered my Otterbox defender case which fits perfectly, it's a little bulkier though.

The only complaint I've had is with Verizon's LTE network problems. A guy at the Verizon store said we'll soon have an update to fix that.

Yeah, verizon is choking quite a bit with LTE right now. I see it clearing up over the next 3-6 months between additional firmware updates and them settling in their network.

Between all the BIG carriers I've worked with - Verizon still sucks to work with but a lot less than most of them and their people actually seem to have skill that interface with us.

anybody's reception on their GNex go to shit this week? I cant get any reception at all inside my work building, and its never had any problems since i got it on release day til now. WTF, i cant work without streaming pandora, ugh.

No issues here but I know there is an OTA update soon to be released that'll help a bunch of the 4G issues Verizon has been having.

^ very interesting read indeed. I have not had any phone issues, but I will be sure to stay tuned.
