i like the nexus. seems to have a great screen. the form factor looks meh in pictures, id like to see it in person.

battery consumption can be mostly remedied with a simple solar panel case back. too bad someone has that patented and is just sitting on the technology.

It looks nice, but I'm sure something better will be out 1st or 2nd quarter next year, and the sgs2 does great for now, so I'll just wait it out and see what happens.

Haven't seen too much from Verizon that's supposed to be out by the second quarter that'll be much better.

A few rumored quad core phones, not sure if they'll be at vz or not, though.

Only one I've heard of is the Note and I thought that was going to AT&T.

Nah, HTC is supposed to have one soon. The note is a dual core 1.4ghz exynos processor, and you can buy unlocked versions that will work on tmo and att, but they're stupid expensive right now, just like with the unlocked galaxy nexus. Paying 800 bucks for a phone is not worth it.

It just depends on how it's being used. My dual core phone has better battery life than my single core processor phone. It won't be at full clock speed the whole time.

Samsung doesn't lock bootloaders. Probably about 550/600 outright.

                            $300? No thanks.

Amazon and Fry's to the rescue!

Fry's Electronics is offering the Galaxy Nexus for $220 with a new 2-year contract and for $250 should you choose to renew. Alternatively, the smartphone can be purchased on Amazon for the tempting $200...

Cool, as long as I can root it and get wifi tether running on it I'm sure I'll get it. I'm curious to hear some feedback on battery life / usage etc. though.

I still get unlimited data on my vzw so that's the main reason I've gotta have wifi tether functioning on the device, I use wifi tether all the time all over the US.

Hopefully work will pick up the the tab on the cost of the phone outright, or cover an 'early' upgrade fee on my line.
