  • Anyone experienced with video editing?

    Need to ask some questions.

What's your question? And what kind of video file?

I'm going to be creating a compilation type video with a voice over for a little project. I'm going to be doing this in adobe premiere pro CS5.5. My question revolves around doing a video inside of a video. Meaning, I'll have the main video and then another video playing at 1/4 size in the top right - like picture in picture pretty much. How do you do that in Premier exactly?

I use software called PowerDirector to do exactly what you're proposing, but with live audio/video and picture-in-picture overlay. I never tried live ViV editing. Unfortunately, I have no experience or advice with Adobe Premiere. Take a long look at the built in Help features under editing tools or production effects. Elements is pretty sophisticated and one of the cons of it for some people is how confusing it can be. Like opening up Photoshop CS5 for the first time.

This isn't for a live broadcast, it's for a youtube video. No need for that.

My contact doesn't use premiere, no luck. I'm going to pull a level 1 help desk move and say "Did you try googling it?" I did come across this website with a bunch of tutorials.
