  • Velocity Micro T301 Tablet - $75...Worth it??

I had an Ipad 2 before I decided it'd be a good idea to leave it on an AA flight to Indy (it's gone, no surprise), and I loved it. I liked to download TV episodes and shit on Itunes and watch them on planes (frequent traveler), and also liked to use it for internet access in hotels. I liked the fact that it was essentially "instant-on", vs waiting for my work laptop to boot-up, and there were things I could look at on it that I couldn't on my work laptop (yes...mainly porn).

I did think that the Ipad was a little big though, and kinda cumbersome to handle. So I see this 7" Velocity Micro T301 for $75 on Buy.com today. I know that I'll need an SD card for memory, but they're cheap ($40 for 32GB). I also don't like refurb'd products, but it's only $75!

What do you guys think? I bought one just for grins, but am wondering what the trade-offs are and why it's so fuckin cheap. Any thoughts/opinions?? I know it's not an Ipad, but it's also 85% less expensive than one....

I think the reviews on the site pretty much answer any question I had.
No market access = no buy.

its great as an e-reader, but falls short of replacing the other tablets obviously not at the 75 price-tag.

            android 2.0 (can you upgrade?)
            capacitive screen isn't the "best"
cruz market - very small list of apps.

at 75 bucks, its a great e-reader. beyond that, it doesn't really excel at much else.

So it won't be any good for general web browsing and checking e-mail?

It came in the mail today...it's a little slow, for sure, but I like the size and it seems to do what I want. Not a bad deal for $75 shipped.
