Granted this was back in May or June when I built this computer, RAM is now less expensive and of course there is better hardware out there now, but this should give you a idea.
I run everything current on the highest settings without a problem, bumped BF3 down to high so I could run it at 70+ fps. Also the power supply is there so when I purchase another 6950 or if I decide to build another computer.

well the only things I can advise you on is go with an Asus ROG motherboards like the gene-z I recommended in the other thread. For $169 you really cant go wrong with it, especially on a budget build. You can use the best parts in the world and put them on a crappy mobo and it wont ever be stable. I learned that years ago.
Also the Noctua CPU fan is REALLY nice. Its super quiet and works extremely good. Its really big though so make sure to go to Noctua's website and check to make sure the RAM you get is compatible and will clear.
If you go with SSD storage then I like the Crucial M4's I got. Problem free and very fast. As far as graphics cards, Im really no help. I personally cant recommend the 6990's since Im having all the issues I am with mine. Even with the stock coolers, they are stupid loud and the vregs still overheat. I would personally look at maybe a 6970 and then add another later on if you wanted to do crossfire. I kind of wish I went with Nvidia cards on my build but Im sure they have their own issues. Other than the 6990, I have no expirience with any modern cards.Comment

Oh and for thermal paste, IC Diamond is AWSOME. The 24 carat and 7 carat are the same thing, just different size syringes btw. The only downside to the stuff is it is very abrasive being mostly diamond dust and will discolor or even etch the cpu. Alot of people complain about that but I could care less. Frozencpu.com sells the 24k for $16.99 which is the cheapest I have ever seen it. I just ordered another tube yesterday as a matter of fact.Comment

I dont want to hijack this thread but the guys on hard forum thought maybe enabling vsync would help and said all the FPS were overworking the cards. I only have one card in right now because I took one out to measure for copper sinks and I cant get the damn vregs to go over 80* on heaven11 or BF3 on eyefinity. To me it pisses me off.
Skyrim doesn't run well with a GTX460, so I need to step it up to a 560 or preferably a 570. I betcha it won't run fluid at 1080p, or maybe I'm bitter going by negative reviews left and right.
But I guarantee it won't be fluid.Comment
