PS3 vs. Xbox360?

This is probably a debatable topic, but I'm not in any way a gamer so I have no idea. My 9 y/o son wants one or the other for Christmas. Keeping in mind his age, which would you recommend?

for a 9 year old, i would guess the xbox with kinect.

Personally I am an Xbox fan, get him the one with xbox kinect to help him keep active while playing

I have both, and love my PS3, but I'd go with the 360.

I'm PS3 all the way, but 360 does seem to have more games aimed towards his age.

i had 2 ps3s within a week, both of which would freeze every game i played. The only thing i see good about the ps3 vs the xbox is that ps3 games have slightly better graphics and it plays blu ray.

All kids around that age have a blast with my XB360. However, I don't think you'll go wrong with either.

We debated the same thing for my daughter this year (she's 10). We ended up going with the ps3 because of the blu ray (almost all our movies are blu ray now) and the fact that the controllers are a little smaller. There are still plenty of games for her such as little big planet, harry potter, and mod nation racers.

You're doing it wrong. I've had mine for 4 or 5 years now and it has only ever froze once.
